20 Goals for 2020

A look into my journal...

Graduate College

  • This should be easy (but also not easy because classes and writing. I get it. I cri)
  • You BETTER maintain that GPA and graduate with some sort of honors!
  • Also, take those graduation pictures (you've been waiting for this and literally planning your hair around this — so you better)

Go on that trip

  • Listen, sometimes life involves doing things you're not completely sure about.
  • There will, undoubtedly, be positives through any negative
  • Plus, no matter what, you'll find that moment of stillness
  • You love it there. That's all the reason you need.

Use Recyclable Bags

  • You know you're going to the store.

Do More Art

  • Invest your time in artistic pursuits.
  • There's so much to learn and so many uncharted territories.
  • Art is Art. There is no right or wrong.

Write More (for fun)

  • You're taking creative writing and after you graduate you'll have a writing minor...
  • I know (and now the metaphorical world knows) you have a full notes section of ideas
  • They don't even have to be published. Just write & express yourself
  • This also includes being better at journaling... like... do better at that pls

Keep Learning Spanish

  • Second languages are important
  • There's so many ways to learn and practice!

Spend More Time Reading

  • Reading is a beautiful passion
  • You have a list of books you want to read
  • Even if they're audiobooks. Spend more time doing this.

Drink More Water

  • No brainer
  • It's good for you!

No Buy/Low Buy

  • You just cleaned out your closet and makeup. You don't need to buy more.
  • Buy clothes from thrift stores/2nd hand if you want "new" clothes (because Reuse is best)
  • Buying 2nd hand often means supporting a smaller business instead of a corporation :)
  • Fashion is one of the biggest contributors to pollution, not to mention many clothes are unethically made. Fast fashion is bad.

Apply for a New Job (or Internship)

  • Even though you love your current job so much :(
  • We have to spread our wings

Apply for a Job/Internship that seems Out of Reach

  • Even if you don't get it
  • Even if you have to say no
  • We have to spread our wings

Spend One Hour Daily Phone-less (or more)

  • Endless scrolling and games are not enriching.
  • Trust me, this WILL add to your life
  • Maybe use that hour to complete other goals

Stop Eating Candy/Junk

  • Just because work provides it, does not mean you should take it.
  • Let's face it, you never take just one piece.

Shave Your Head

  • You've always wanted to try it
  • Who are you without hair?
  • Think of all the fun wig options!

Travel

  • Preferably somewhere new and preferably alone.
  • But there's nothing wrong with discovering something new in a place you've already been
  • A new experience is a new experience.

Go See Art

  • There are so many interpretations to this, but just go enjoy Art in the world.
  • Be it dance, theatre, music, or museum (or literally anything else)

Take More Pictures and Videos

  • They're one of the best ways to remember a moment
  • You can never have to many (or can you? Try to prove it).

Save Money

  • Just because you have money doesn't mean you should spend it.

Donate Money

  • You thought about it in 2019. It's time to do it in 2020.
  • Causes you care about need your support.
  • Is there any better time than now?

Learn Something New Outside and After School

  • Never stop learning!
  • There's always more to learn.
  • Take some sort of class after you've graduated, in-person or online.

These are my biggest goals for 2020, with all my raw commentary transferred nearly word-for-word from my journal (meaning many of the "mistakes" I've typed here are intentional). I hope this has inspired you to incorporate some of these goals into your life. What are your intentions for the new year?
